Sofia Boo, Lic. Dept of Behavioural Sciences and Learning, Linköping Univ.
Sofia Boo has been working as a primary school teacher for 15 years. She has a licentiate degree in pedagogic practices and is now working in teacher education at Linköping University. A major challenge for teachers is to adapt the teaching in the classrooms to different pupil’s needs and abilities. Sofia Boo has in an ethnographic study investigated how today’s teachers in Sweden handle individual adaptations in teaching, what strategies they use and what dilemmas that occurs. The presentation will focus on the results of the study and give examples of different strategies teachers can use to adapt teaching to each student.
